HP Pagewide XL Pro - Ground Breaking new product release – 15 September 2021

Hewlett Packard today announce the launch of their new HP Pagewide XL Pro series specifically targeting production graphic applications where high-speed output is required on to a variety of substrates including on upto 10MM rigid materials with the added ability of double sided output from cut sheet papers, in addition to still being able to print construction or manufacturing CAD drawings and plots on plain paper.

The HP PageWide XL Pro 10000, 8200 MFP and 5200 MFP allow print service providers (PSPs) and reprohouses to hit tough deadlines and deliver short-term applications such as boards, cardstock and cut sheets quickly and sustainably with HP's unique eco-carton ink cartridges with cardboard outers which are fully recyclable locally and with ink bags returnable under the HP planet partners scheme.

Whilst continuing to offer production speed output from roll and with up to 6 media rolls online (HP Pagewide XL Pro 10000) users can experience output speeds of upto 30 A1 per minute from online materials, additionally an innovative cut sheet stacker accessory allows for the loading of sheets in upto 10mm in thickness or from a selected range of surface treated or matte coated medias, media validation is continuous and medias are being added frequently to the selection from leading independent paper manufacturers with profiles downloadable directly to cloud connected HP Pagewide XL printers.

A further accessory of a rear exit table allows for stacking of printed media, this can then be reorientated and returned by the operator to the front of the printer for the completion of double sided print jobs.

Quality - built on the highly successful HP Pagewide XL designed predominantly for the reproduction of Construction drawings and lower resolution poster printing / graphics the new Pro series addresses banding issues with newly configured heads offering increased airflow with significantly reduced banding then the technical series.

The new HP PageWide XL Pro 5200 and HP PageWide XL Pro 8200 offer print speeds of up to 20 A1 pages/min and 400 m2/hr and 30 D/A1 pages/min500 m2/hr respectively, enabling users to meet short turnaround time. With the PageWide XL Pro 8200 able to print mixed outputs of both CAD drawings and presentation boards, both printers are also capable of delivering full projects two to three times faster than before. With the new HP PageWide XL Pro 5200 and HP PageWide XL Pro 8200, users can also expand their print applications into two-sided, short-term retail posters, which can be easily managed with HP  optional SmartStream or with an already approved list of RIPS.


Designed to help boost profits and cut costs, both the HP PageWide XL Pro 5200 and the HP PageWide XL Pro 8200 enable users to save up to 50% preparation and finishing costs. Using up to three-litre Original HP Eco-Carton ink cartridges (PWXL 8200 Pro only), both printers ensure low running costs for CAD drawings and posters. Features such as the versatile stacker, inline folders and auto switch free up operation time.

HP PageWide XL Pro 10000 boosts productivity with fast printing speeds of up to 700 m2 or 1,000 B1 posters per hour and can print on different sizes materials, including paper and boards to cardstock and cut sheets. It also provides PSPs with the capability to deliver quick results with instant-dry prints on compatible substrates. With HP PrintOS, PSPs can easily control the operations of their fleet anywhere, anytime - while also enjoying simplified maintenance and fast start-up. The HP PageWide XL Pro 10000 also features the first HP large-format auto sheet feeder and versatile stacker, providing seamless end-to-end cut-sheet workflow.
